Is permanent makeup for me?

Is permanent makeup for me? Eyebrows that are too sparse, lips with blurred contours, pale mouth, or even areolas that have disappeared after a mastectomy… Semi-makeup permanent is a solution.

Practiced by highly trained specialists, with safe pigments and impeccable hygiene, semi-permanent make-up is enjoying a remarkable comeback. Gone is the dark brown lip contour of the 2000s, its progress for a more natural look appeals to many of us today... and at all ages.

Makeup but not tattoo

In traditional tattoo shops, heavy and powerful machines are used to implant the pigments in depth. The objective is indeed to permanently and intensely fix shapes and colors under the skin.

For semi-permanent make-up, a dermograph is used. It has an adjustable power and speed as well as a controlled implantation depth in order to make non-definitive lines in the superficial layers of the skin. Over time the pigments fade naturally, which allows me to change the shape and color of my makeup if I want to. This technique makes it possible to harmonize, balance and rejuvenate the features of my face. There is even restorative dermopigmentation in 3D, a very specific technique for medical purposes to camouflage scars, a cleft lip, recreate an areola or an eyebrow.

Stable and vegan pigments

Some of us complain about seeing our eyebrows turn from brown to orange. "The mineral pigments used in most institutes have the fault of turning over time, explains Maud Ravier*, one of the pioneers of semi-permanent make-up who for 18 years has worked with doctors, surgeons and oncologists. Light pigments change to orange, chestnuts to pink, darks to bluish grey. For my part, I work with organic pigments, which are so stable that they only require touch-ups every 18 months or so instead of the usual four months."

They can even correct a mouth whose contour is too dark or recolor a lip that has turned gray due to poor quality pigments. Sterilized with gamma rays, they are a guarantee of safety, are anti-allergenic, natural, preservative-free and dermatologically tested. But, rest assured, they are not tested on animals!

How is a session going?

I sit in a medical chair, dentist's chair style. Maud asks me what I want to improve:line or thickness of my eyebrows, outline of my mouth, lusciousness of my lips, or even to create a line of eyeliner… She then draws with a make-up pencil the final result (shape and color ) and even take a picture to make sure I'll be happy with the result.

Then we move on to the reconstruction of my eyebrow. She works hair by hair using her dermograph for an undetectable and natural effect. The pigments are thus implanted very superficially inside my eyebrow so as not to distort my color or cause me scars. If the session, which lasts 1h30 to 2 hours, is not a cakewalk, the pain is however bearable.

The consequences:a little dark at first, the result is final after 4 to 5 days. I apply a moisturizer (the pigmented area is a little red), and I avoid all sources of humidity (hammam, facial sauna, misting) and UV rays for a few days. If I am not satisfied, a touch-up is scheduled three weeks later. Otherwise, a single touch-up every 12/18 months will maintain the radiance and sharpness of the result. In the end, an amazing lift effect thanks to my slightly raised eyebrow tail.

Prices:from 350 to 400€ including alterations depending on the correction requested.

Semi-permanent makeup, for which areas of the face?

If the correction of the eyebrows is the most requested first intention, semi-permanent make-up can correct many other areas thanks to subtle mixtures of pigments in order to guarantee a perfectly natural and undetectable result:redraw asymmetrical lips, recolor a mouth that is too pale and even reshape an aging mouth that tends to sag... In addition, thanks to a cocktail of pigments and anti-aging active ingredients (hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, B5, Matrixyl®) the gesture is cared for boost the production of my collagen.

Finally, doctors often refer their patients to Maud after surgery. Its Dermochromatic Repair carries out the meticulous implantation in the superficial layer of the epidermis of multiple specific pigments harmoniously selected to redraw in trompe l'oeil an areola, an eyebrow, a lip.
