The konjac sponge, my 100% natural beauty ritual

Consumed in Japan for over two thousand years, konjac has nutritional benefits that have conquered the West. Appetite suppressant, detox and low calorie. With only 3 calories per 100 grams, this Asian root is therefore best known for being a slimming ally. But for a handful of natural cosmetics enthusiasts, konjac is also an everyday beauty product! In the form of a sponge, it gently exfoliates and cleanses.

The Konjac sponge is made of 100% natural plant fibers from "Amorphophallus Konjac", a perennial plant native to Asia known as Konnyaku. For over a century, the Japanese have used konjac as a beauty treatment for their delicate skin.

It brings to your skin a soft and tender cleaning in all sobriety. Initially designed for babies, the benefits of Konjac sponges were quickly proven for the rest of the family.

According to research done in Japan, the Konjac sponge is the most gentle and effective cleaning product that can be found on the market. Konjac sponges can deep clean without damaging the skin better than any normal washing cloth (or even a sea sponge).

What are the benefits for your skin?

Its cleansing action is matched only by its delicacy. It will eliminate impurities and sebum while bringing radiance and freshness to your face, without attacking the skin or unbalancing its pH.

- Your skin is soft, and your pores are tightened

- Your complexion is brighter and more even

- Small pimples disappear smoothly

- The sponge cleans effectively and thoroughly without attacking the skin

- It is very lightly exfoliating and really smoothes the skin texture

- It is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive

- It is 100% natural and fully biodegradable.

How to use it?

The konjac sponge is made from the famous root "Amorphophallus Konjac", swells on contact with water. Before first use, run the sponge under hot water. When your sponge is dry, do the same. It is imperative that the sponge has absorbed water to be used.

In the morning or evening after removing make-up, moisten the konjac sponge with lukewarm water, adding a dab of cleanser for greater effectiveness. We then clean the face by passing the sponge in small circular gestures. Its exfoliating action is gentle and suitable for all skin types, even those with eczema or psoriasis.

Once your skin is clean, rinse the sponge with lukewarm water, then wring it out and finally hang it up (using its little string) to dry it.

Your sponge can last you several months after which you will have to think about replacing it.

Maintenance:once a week clean your sponge with Marseille soap and rinse it under very hot water, you can also boil it for a few minutes once in a while!

How to store it?

100% natural and therefore 100% biodegradable, the konjac sponge can be kept for about three months if used daily. It is essential to clean it with lukewarm water after each use and more thoroughly, once a week, with Marseille soap or by immersing it in boiling water. Its cord allows it to be hung in the bathroom so that it can dry healthily. Change your sponge when it starts to crumble. Between €8 and €10, it is a profitable investment for our skin!
