6 tips for choosing the right bra when you have large breasts

When you have large breasts, it is difficult to find a good bra. You know, the one that is both comfortable, pleasant to wear and provides good support. Indeed, if you choose an ill-fitting bra, you risk having pain and injuries, but also weighing down your figure. Here are our 6 tips for choosing the right bra when you have large breasts.

Measuring your underbust circumference

The first advice we can give you to find the ideal lingerie is to measure your underbust circumference. To do this, arm yourself with a tape measure and place it just below your chest and go around. To this measurement add 12.5 cm to know your size. For example, if you find a measure between:

  • 68 and 72 cm, you make an 85;
  • 73 and 77 cm:90;
  • 78 and 82 cm:95;
  • 83 and 87 cm:100;
  • 88 and 92 cm:105;
  • 93-97cm:110;

Determine cup size

The second step is to determine your cup size. To do this, keep your tape measure and measure your chest circumference by positioning it approximately in the middle of the breasts. To know your cup size , rely on the difference between the two measurements.

For example, if your underbust measurement is 80 cm and your bust measurement is 99, you are a D cup because the difference is 19 cm. If the difference you find is:

  • 17 cm, you have a C cup;
  • 19cm, D cup;
  • 21cm, E cup;
  • 23cm, F cup;
  • 25cm, G cup;
  • 27cm, H cup;

Which shape should you choose for a large size bra?

With a beautiful luscious chest, you have no choice but to prefer good support . However, it is quite possible to have a sexy, trendy and comfortable bra! Exit granny's bra! Here are the shapes preferred:

  • Women's minimizer bra (to minimize the size of your breasts);
  • The full cup bra (sexy and offers excellent support);
  • The push-up bra (to refocus the chest);
  • Brass (for sports);

Try before you buy

As with any outfit, it's important to try on before you buy. Indeed, from one brand to another, the sizes can vary. That is why it is necessary to know whether a bra fits you or not.

For that, know that a bra in your size is comfortable! If it's squeezing you, if the straps are cutting into your shoulders or the hooks are scratching your back , you can immediately remove this bra! Hence the importance of trying.

Adjust the straps properly

Contrary to what one might think, there is no need to over-tighten bra straps , it will not shape your chest more and these will mark your shoulders and dig your back.

To know if your suspenders are properly adjusted, you must be able to pass a finger between the shoulder and the suspender easily. Also, don't panic if your straps each have a different setting:very few women have perfectly symmetrical busts.

Wide straps should also be preferred when you have a large chest, as these are more comfortable.

Does this bra really fit you?

Once you have chosen the correct cup size, bra shape and strap width, you can finally see if this bra you like so much is suitable for your chest.

First, your generous breasts must fit perfectly into the cups, that is to say that nothing protrudes and there is no space between the cup and your skin. A happy medium between the two.

If the top of your breasts protrude, the bra you have chosen is too small. On the other hand, if the cup is gaping, there are two possibilities:

  1. Reposition your breasts correctly in the cup and check if this is still the case;
  2. If it still yawns, you need to size down.

For underwired bras, make sure they are lined with fleece to maximize comfort . And to finish, the middle of the bra must be perfectly flat against the skin, same advice for the swimsuit!
