1. Protect your hair against chlorinated water

Before you dive into the outdoor swimming pool for a refreshing dip, you should protect your hair from the chlorinated water. Chlorine and sun can not only bleach your hair, but swimming in chlorinated water often means a direct attack on your hair which will eventually dry out and start to frizz. Of course you can wear a rubber swimming cap, but is that a charming combination with a trendy bikini?

A great tip I recently got for my daughter (from a hairdresser):apply conditioner to your dry hair before swimming (don't rinse!). My daughter swims almost daily, weather permitting, and since she has applied this tip, her hair no longer frizzes and feels soft every day.

Immediately after swimming with hair shampoo to rinse out the chlorinated water and then use conditioner also cares for the hair.

2. Use a hair mask

Dry weather and the sun have a major impact on your hair. It will feel dry and look dull much faster in the summer. You can prevent this by pampering your hair in the summer with a hair mask. You can buy these in the store or make delicious hair masks yourself with natural (home) products.

3. Gloss spray or hair oil

Are you having a hard time with your hair and can your dull hair use an extra boost? Or do you want to go out and need a hairstyle with shiny hair? Then use a shine spray or hair oil, which will make your dull hair shine immediately. Note:oily hair is unpalatable, so use it sparingly. If you have used too much, use a dry shampoo immediately.

4. Do not wash your hair too often

Some people like to wash their hair every day, especially when the weather is warmer. However, this is strongly discouraged, because it will dry out the hair even more and you will achieve the opposite of what you had in mind. As a rule, washing 2-3 times a week is more than sufficient, especially the scalp, while the hair itself is already sufficiently washed when you rinse the shampoo from the scalp.
