Red eyes

QUESTION: I am 27 years old and often suffer from eye problems. The whites of my eyes are always a little red and the sides a little yellow. Why is that and what can be done about it?

ANSWER: “The yellow color on the sides of the eyes and red on the whites of the eyes can indicate inflammation or an allergic reaction, especially if you have them more often. This can have several causes.

During the day, various substances come into your eyes, to which they can react sensitively † For example, small particles of make-up and make-up remover, but also day cream that 'crawls' into the eye during the day.

Products that respect the acidity (pH value) of the eyes and are specially made for sensitive skin, give the least chance of an allergic reaction. These products do not contain perfume, preservatives, alcohol or lanolin.

Therefore, always check the ingredients list before purchasing a product. If the complaints persist, it is advisable to consult a doctor or dermatologist.”
