Strange smell

QUESTION: If I spray a nice scent on my skin, it smells a bit chemical after about ten minutes. Does that have to do with the acidity of my skin? If so, can I do something about it?

ANSWER: “When a fragrance comes into contact with the skin, it undergoes a development. First the alcohol dissipates and you experience the top note of the fragrance † This is the most pungent and sparkling of the perfume. After fifteen minutes the heart of the fragrance appear; the core of the perfume. It then transitions into the base , which generally consists of warm nuts

The pH value or acidity of the skin indeed determines the development of an eau de toilette or perfume on the skin. This value varies from person to person and depends on various factors, such as diet and hormonal changes. Because of these differences, a perfume develops differently on everyone.

I advise you to try a fragrance on your skin before buying it first † A scent strip gives a good first impression, but never the final result. Experience how the scent develops on your skin during the first fifteen minutes. Whether you like a scent or not has everything to do with association and emotion † For example, the way in which we experience smells may have to do with memories from our childhood. The feeling you had then determines how you will experience the scent now.”
