Crash course walking in heels

Crash course walking in heels

The beautiful pumps are the most beautiful with that nice Christmas outfit. They have never been worn, and for good reason. You can't really walk very well in heels. Follow the crash course.

Just a few more days until Christmas (and even a week longer until New Years Eve). So start practicing on those heels now and you'll be fine. Certainly with the following tips.

Perfect fit
The size and fit of the shoes are very important. It can also be nice if the shoes offer extra support, for example in the form of a strap or T-strap over your instep.

The heel
Never wear heels. Preferably don't start on a heel that is too high. Wide heels and wedges are already a lot easier than stiletto heels.

Practice at home
Put on your shoes at home while you're at it. This way you practice to find the right balance. Also get used to other surfaces. Run an errand while still wearing your killer heels.

Balance
Balance is important. Also practice standing still and try not to wobble. Can't find your balance? Then close your eyes for a moment, that can help you find your balance.

Move smoothly
Walk slowly, move your hips and let yourself go with the flow. Do not try to run in heels if you are not experienced with it.

Tools Good, the shoe should really just fit perfectly, but a gel cushion under the ball of your foot can be nice.

The tip of all tips
Take ballet flats in your bag. If your shoes really hurt too much, you can quickly switch. Moreover, ballet flats do not take up much space in your bag.

Stretch
Walking in heels shortens your calf muscles. Stretch your calves regularly and alternate high heels and shoes regularly.

Sitting party
Save your most beautiful, tallest (and most painful) heels for a party where you'll mostly be sitting. This way you limit sore feet.
