Did you switch to your finer (or cheaper) day cream without spf at the dawn of the grayer days?
There may not be a ray of sun visible, unlike UVB radiation, UVA radiation is everywhere. It goes through the clouds and even through windows. It is therefore a good idea to lubricate with an SPF. Look carefully at the packaging against which radiation your cream protects against. There are many creams that only work against UVB.
Don't forget to rub your hands and neck.
