How do you exfoliate your skin?

Exfoliating is another name for exfoliating and peeling. You remove a wafer-thin top layer of your skin in this way. We tell you more about scrubbing and peeling.

Scrub
Scrubbing is done with an emulsion that contains light-abrasive particles. Massage gently over damp skin in circular motions. Exfoliating provides a superficial exfoliation of the skin. Do you have sensitive, dry or easily irritated skin? Then it is better not to exfoliate.

Peel
Peeling is English for 'to peel off'. It involves soaking the surface layer of the skin, usually by an acid-based lotion. Often they are fruit acids, such as AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) as glycolic acid or BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) as salicylic acid. Salicylic acid has the property of being able to penetrate into the sebum in the pores, so it is recommended to soothe oily skin or fight breakouts. The peels with AHAs have more effect on sun-damaged, dry skin because they restore the moisture balance in the skin.

Choose your peeling
Always check the concentration on the packaging:the higher the percentage of fruit acids, the more intensive the peeling. This can be good for the result, but you also have a greater chance of side effects. Burning feeling? A home peeling should not set the skin on fire, so the product is not suitable for your skin. It may tingle a little. Test it first on your wrist for a few days.
