How to find a bra in the right size

A good bra does wonders for your silhouette. But research by Hunkemöller shows that eighty percent of women wear a bra in the wrong cup size.

So there is a good chance that you also belong here and that is a shame. A well-fitting bra not only makes your breasts look beautiful, it also keeps them firm. A bra that is too small is also not good for the breast tissue and with too little support you can get back, neck and shoulder complaints and headaches with large breasts.

Measuring is knowing
Start by measuring your lower bust size. Take a tape measure and pull it tight just below your breasts. Now measure your bust; you do this at the point where your breasts are fullest. There are several websites that help you calculate your size based on these numbers.

But there is more to consider when buying a bra. Take a look at this checklist.

Need help? You can have your cup size measured at most lingerie stores, but you can also easily calculate your cup size online. There are also various apps that give you a hand, such as the Third Love app (free, iOS). Take a selfie of your breasts (no, this doesn't have to be naked) and the app will calculate your perfect cup size. You can also calculate your bust size with the My Size App (free, Android and iOS).

Take our test: are you wearing the right bra?
