Your sunscreen might be a little cheaper this year

That would be good news, because protecting your skin is very important.

Byron Bay recently showed us their new products and they told us that the products have been reduced in price. That price reduction has a reason.

In November 2016, the Supreme Court ruled that sunscreen with UVA and UVB filters qualify as medicines for VAT purposes. This means that we no longer pay 21% VAT, but 6%. If drugstores pass on the entire price advantage to the consumer, prices would fall by more than 11.5%, according to the Financieel Dagblad. However, it will ultimately not apply to all brands of sunscreen. Some increase the margin. Read more about the change in VAT.
