What you didn't know about red hair

What you didn t know about red hair

It is estimated that only 1 percent of the world's population has red hair. Since it's International Redheads Day, we've got four more facts for you about this special hair color.

Full hair

Redheads are blessed with a full head of hair; they have thicker hair than people with a different hair color.

Remains red

It is nonsense that natural reds will no longer exist in the future, according to Dr Erik Sistermans (genome diagnostics VU). Pure red hair will become less common, but certainly not extinct. To make a complicated DNA and gene story short:you need the red hair gene from every parent to get red hair. If one of the parents has a different dominant gene, the gene for red hair is suppressed. In theory, red hair could therefore become extinct, but the gene does not disappear from the population.

Ginger

Most redheads in the world live in Scotland:13 percent of the population has red locks.

Longer colored

Dyed red fades quickly from UV light. Due to a treatment with red pigments, the hair scales no longer close properly, so that this color comes off more easily. Ask the hairdresser to pre-pigment your hair for a longer-lasting color effect. At home you keep the red color fresh with products especially for red hair.
