What is the difference between perfume and eau de toilette?

Perfume, eau de parfum, eau de toilette… What exactly is the difference between these? We explain it to you!

Fragrances consist of a mix of fragrances, alcohol and water. The difference between perfume and eau de toilette is determined by the concentration of fragrances. Then there are the fragrance notes.

Perfume

Perfume (extract) contains the highest concentration of fragrances, namely twenty to forty percent. That means that you will continue to smell the scent of a perfume for a long time.

Eau de parfum

An eau de parfum has a percentage of ten to twenty percent. Here's a bit of confusion:we usually just call eau de parfum just perfume, but officially it's really something different from perfume, as you could have read above.

Eau de toilette

The scent of an eau de toilette lasts the least. Eau de toilette has an odor percentage of five to ten percent.
