This is why you often have dry skin in winter

A pulling skin and chapped lips:many suffer from this in autumn and winter. We tell you why this is the case and what you can do about it.

Cold

When it's cold outside, the skin produces less lipids. These skin-specific fats provide a healthy skin barrier and have a moisture-retaining effect. The less lipids, the drier the skin. Wind, rain and cold can damage the skin barrier. This allows moisture to escape from the skin faster. By greasing well with a protective and moisturizing cream, you keep the skin barrier strong and your skin does not dry out as quickly.
