6 tips if you have curly hair

Women with curly hair know all too well the annoyances that come with this gift. Yes the curls can be beautiful but a lot of the time these are hard to handle. To lessen the daily struggle, here are our top six tips.

1. Layers Layers Layers
It all starts with the haircut. Regardless of the texture, get your hair cut in long layers. This will shape your hair.

2. Hydrate
Curly hair is naturally dry and prone to frizz, as you probably know all too well! It's also a good idea to wash your hair less and take advantage of your natural oils.

3. Sulfate-free shampoo
When you finally feel like washing your hair, choose only sulfate-free products. Sulfates drain the hair of moisture – a nightmare for curly women.

3. Avoid bath towels
Use a microfiber towel or cotton T-shirt to dry your hair. Never rub your hair with a bath towel – it leads to frizzy hair.

4. Regular treatments
Use a mask and/or good conditioner every week. This is critical to maintaining the integrity of your curls.

5. Good products
To get a good look you need good products. You don't have to spend a lot of money, but you should have some good basic products on hand.

6. Less fluff
The more you work with your hair, the more frizzy it will be. Use less heat, brush less often and wash less.
