7 in 10 women consider cosmetic procedures

Nearly 70 percent of women say they're considering cosmetic treatment, new research shows. The number one of the 14 factors for choosing a cosmetic procedure is influencers. The study also revealed the reasons people turn to cosmetic procedures. “Feeling more confident” is the main reason, followed by “looking as young as I feel for my age” and “to feel more attractive.”

The top four treatments and the percentage considering cosmetic procedures:
* Body sculpting, 58 percent
* Ultrasound, laser, light and radiofrequency treatments to get rid of wrinkles or tighten the skin, 57 percent
* Microdermabrasion 53 percent
* Laser hair removal, 47 percent

The survey also asked what bothers them about their appearance. In first place is excess fat on an area of ​​the body at 85 percent. More than 70 percent suffer from lines and wrinkles around the eyes, excess fat under the chin/neck and the skin and skin texture and/or discoloration. More than 60 percent suffer from wrinkles near the cheeks and mouth, sagging facial skin, lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows, forehead and neck.

Patients who had undergone treatments were asked to rate their satisfaction. Eight treatment categories achieved 90 percent or better customer satisfaction:Injectable wrinkle relaxers and fillers; laser and light treatments for redness, scars; treatments for the skin or wrinkles with ultrasound, laser, light and radio frequency; vein treatments; microdermabrasion; laser tattoo removal; and chemical peels.
