7 Ways to Get Rid of Ingrown Hair Naturally

Regardless of which hair removal methods women use, ingrown hairs can always occur. While this won't cause serious health problems, it can cause redness, irritation, swelling, inflammation, or even pain. Here are some effective natural remedies to try:

1. Use Black Tea Bags to Relieve Inflammation High-quality black tea is a good source of tannic acid that helps to relieve redness and inflammation. Place a tea bag in a cup of warm water for a few seconds and rub it over the ingrown hair area for a few minutes.

2. Soothe skin with honey
Although honey feels tacky and may not seem ideal, it has strong antibacterial properties, which prevent and fight bacteria and reduce swelling and inflammation. Apply honey to the affected area and rinse it off after 10-15 minutes. Do this 2 to 4 times a day.

Apple cider vinegar fights skin bacteria and reduces the risk of infection and can also ease inflammation. Use a cotton cloth to apply apple cider vinegar to the affected area and rinse with warm water after 5 to 10 seconds.

4. Cool it down with aloe vera
Combat itchiness, inflammation and bumps by applying a fresh gel of an aloe vera leaf. Let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse it off. If you have severe inflammation, try doing it 2 to 4 times a day. Aloe vera provides a natural cooling effect on the skin and helps to relieve pain.

5. Help remove sugar ingrown hairs
Combine 3 tablespoons of white sugar with 2 to 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil. Add a few drops of lavender. Apply the mixture in a circular motion and rub gently. Rinse it off and moisturize your skin. Use once a week. However, if you suffer from skin irritation or inflammation, it is best to avoid using it.

If you don't have red bumps and you just want to prevent ingrown hair, use a homemade scrub with baking soda, oatmeal, honey and water.
