A little plastic surgery to boost your confidence

It is starting to become a bit more 'normal', but there is still a nice taboo on the subject of plastic surgery. I ask myself why. You can feel something for it or not, but that doesn't mean you have to attach a value judgment to it, right? It is a fact that some men and women want to undergo plastic surgery because of complaints or to give their self-confidence a boost. so what?

How do you react when someone close to you says that you want to undergo plastic surgery?

If you could choose, which part of your body would you like to have done? And would you even consider having a cosmetic procedure done yourself or are you strongly against it? And what if someone close to you comes up with that question? Look, I understand that there are people who would like to have something corrected, but don't have the money for it. Or just really dreading surgery and finding it too exciting to take the plunge. In fact, I understand both arguments very well.

But I don't understand why there is such a taboo on the subject. Everyone should know for themselves whether or not they want to undergo plastic surgery?

Accept yourself as you are or go under the knife?

The fact that it is important to accept yourself as you are sounds logical and sensible in itself. Unfortunately, it's not always that simple. If someone close to me would indicate that she would like to undergo a labia correction, I would be quite impressed. At least, if the reason is that she wants a designer vagina from the magazines, because that simply looks better. But what if there is so much uncertainty about that body part or other body part that she is confronted with on a daily basis that makes her really very unhappy? Then you at least want it to be a topic of conversation, right? I do anyway.

And if it eventually turns out that a cosmetic procedure is not only cosmetic, but also has a positive influence on the self-confidence of such a person, then that certainly counts in the consideration. Whether it concerns an ear correction or a labia correction. This is not to say that plastic surgery is a solution for everything, but rather that I think it is important to at least be able to talk about it with each other. No matter how difficult such a conversation may be.

I also boosted my self-confidence with plastic surgery

At least I know what it can do for you. It has been four years for me since I said goodbye to my drooping eyelids by means of an eyelid correction. At the time I reported extensively in my blog about 'eyelid correction before and after'. The period before my surgery was very exciting and to be honest it took me years to get to the point that I thought plastic surgery was possible. From 'affliction to unnecessary' and from 'diva to only appearance-oriented'… I have poured out all preconceptions about myself. But it remained a daily recurring item when I looked in the mirror.

Afterwards I am very happy that I had my eyes corrected and I still think I look better and more rested than years ago, before my correction. It has also really given me more confidence and I clearly feel better when I see my reflection in the mirror. In fact, I can't even imagine what my eyes looked like a few years ago. And you bet my eyelids would droop even more now than they did back then.

You may think it's strange that my self-confidence has improved because of this, but it really is. If I could still 'choose' which body part I would like to treat with plastic surgery, I can answer that too. The grooves at my mouth could be a little less from me 😉 . But I am not yet ready to undergo surgery for this. Still, I don't rule it out completely for the future.

Have you ever thought about plastic surgery? And what would you like to change about yourself? What's stopping you?
