Make a homemade blackhead patch

What are blackheads?

Appearing mainly on the nose, chin, forehead, but also on the back, blackheads, also called comedones, are the result of clogged channels in the epidermis used to drain sebum. Excess sebum, in contact with air, oxidizes and therefore forms the famous blackhead. This is most common on oily skin, but it can also appear on any skin type, men and women alike. Blackheads can easily be treated at home, using natural and everyday products. The golden rule is of course to avoid fiddling with them too much, as improper handling can lead to scars and even acne pimples.

How to make an anti-blackhead patch

Available in hypermarkets, anti-blackhead patches are one of the effective weapons against blackheads. That said, it is very simple to make them at home, for such quick and satisfying results. To make the patch, mix a tablespoon of milk with a tablespoon of gelatin powder . It is possible to use half a sheet of gelatin, previously softened in cold water. Mix and heat for 10 seconds in the microwave.

To make the anti-blackhead patch effective, open your pores beforehand. To do this, boil water in a saucepan, remove it from the heat, and place your face over it, covered with a towel, so that the steam does not escape. Stay in this position for 10 minutes. Apply the preparation to the areas where your blackheads are and wait until your patch is dry. Pull gently to remove the patch, with your blackheads on it. Rinse your skin with cold water and moisturize your skin with your moisturizer.

Our tips for permanently eliminating blackheads

Some bad habits can promote the appearance of blackheads. An unbalanced diet, products that are too aggressive for the epidermis, stress or fatigue are factors of dehydrated skin and conducive to small imperfections. Thus, to avoid blackheads, taking care of your skin, but also of your inner well-being, is essential. Remember to hydrate throughout the day, without forgetting a complete make-up removal in the evening, before finalizing with a moisturizer adapted to your skin type. Finally, choose the most natural products possible to avoid attacking your skin. If blackheads ever appear, do not hesitate to make an exfoliating scrub with oatmeal, or a mask with green clay to purify your epidermis.
