Summer:what are the clothing habits of the French?

If there is a little hassle before leaving on vacation, it is the choice of clothes to take in the suitcase. Although we always have an idea of what the summer trends are, we are never completely sure what will be all the rage on the seaside. To help us see things more clearly, the online shopping platform ligne Shopcade conducted its small survey of 27,800 French people (58% women and 42% men) with the aim of illustrating their relationship to fashion during the holidays.

First major observation:our compatriots consider their holiday look to be more relaxed (for 72% of women and 91% of men), rather than classier or more fashionable than the rest of the year. Nothing surprising so far. And what is the preferred color for the outfits of each gender? Well it's white for ladies, chosen by 31% of respondents, just after blue (28%) and red (15%)... Chauvines, you said? For men, blue is favored by 48% of them, after red (30%) and a mixture of all colors (8%).

Well-dressed vacationers

Another interesting fact:if some take advantage of the arrival of fine weather to completely renew their wardrobe and try out some eccentric clothing, this is not the case for the French who claim not to change their look during the summer. (61% for women, and 67% for men). And precisely, these looks are described as "casual chic" for the first (32%), followed by the "bohemian / hippie chic" look (31%), and as "simple and sporty" for men, who are 58% to be fans of jeans, shorts and tank tops. Finally, it seems that this loyalty to our style is a good thing, since 50% of women and 61% believe that people are well dressed on vacation.

We don't know if this will save you the difficult dilemmas that precede packing up your suitcases, but the important thing is to feel good in your sneakers in order to get the most out of it. Happy Holidays!
