The minimalist look:elegance in simplicity

Define the minimalist look in one word? Discretion. Originally the term goes further since it was a question in the 90s (date of its peak) of purely and simply rejecting all ostentatious tendencies and of reducing clothing to its primary function:to dress. Well, today the minimalist look has evolved a little to become less strict but it still wants to be close to perfection:a sleek look, neutral colors (white, gray and black), no pattern, straight cuts; all impeccably layered. Every detail is combed through, from the hairstyle to the manicure!

Sober textiles and worked materials

Thinking minimalism means putting aside everything that is not useful in your look, including pockets, large buttons and visible closures. The subtlety of the minimalist look is played out in terms of the material and the cut of the garment. Thus, a very simple black dress becomes super hot if it has been chosen with a leather and satin yoke. And the pompom:we add opaque tights, a jacket with shoulder pads and a superb pair of black high-heeled boots. Wait a minute ! Who said that a minimalist look necessarily rhymed with black color? On the contrary, white is THE color par excellence to adopt for a minimalist look. But the problem when you dress in white is choosing the right cut. Besides, the minimalist look does not forgive any faux pas on this point (hello pressure!). So what does white minimalist look look like? Slim fit white shirt buttoned up to the collar, underneath a blazer jacket in the same shade. Nothing more, nothing less ! And at the bottom, you can opt for classic beige or off-white pants and flat shoes (which you can also take in silver) to complete the outfit.

Back to basics

Obviously, the look is not limited to the clothes:the make-up also counts. And for that we rather focus on sobriety (you guessed it) by opting for a nude beauty. And the nails are not left out either:impeccable manicure of rigor and often without colored varnish. Well, obviously the development of a minimalist outfit is not easy. But beware, these rules are only basics. For a really tip top minimalist look, nothing better than to add your own sauce. The minimalist look (like any other) must above all reflect our personality. And above all, you have to see this fashion trend as a challenge. Objective ? Manage to be at the top of the chic by using the minimum of things.

Are we tempted?
