A Chanel Spa at the Ritz

The Ritz in Paris has always been linked to haute couture:it's a popular location for Vogue photo shoots – like the one with Kate Moss – and for Fashion Week shows. But this iconic place, which reopens its doors this year after a major renovation, will now host the very first Spa Chanel, according to an official press release from the house. The mythical hotel with 159 rooms – including 56 suites and 6 prestigious suites with a view of Place Vendôme, such as the Coco Chanel suite – has been closed since July 2012. Major renovations were necessary for its modernization. The five-star hotel nevertheless remains an emblematic place of French luxury.

The Chanel/Ritz partnership means something for several reasons. Gabrielle Chanel was herself a fervent admirer of the Place Vendôme hotel. She lived there for over thirty years, in what is now called the Coco Chanel suite. She also said “The Ritz is my home” . In addition, the famous Chanel N° 5 perfume is in a bottle supposedly inspired by the architecture and design of the Ritz:“Place Vendôme was one of its sources of inspiration” we read on the Chanel website. “Its space, especially its shape, can be found in the octagonal stopper of the bottle of its first perfume, N°5. »

Although Chanel has sold many beauty products, from sunscreen to lipstick, this will be the first attempt at a Spa entirely dedicated to its flagship products and treatments. Our curiosity is piqued, but we will have to wait until the end of the year and the reopening of the Ritz to enjoy the Spa and its treatments using Chanel products.
