I want beautiful curls!

1/ Choose the tools

The diameter of the curling iron should be chosen according to the desired result:the smaller it is, the tighter the curls will be. In order to obtain a natural result, it is better to choose an average diameter (2.5 to 3 centimeters). Also plan a spray of hairspray (medium to strong fixation), as well as a brush or a comb with large teeth.

2/ Prepare the hair

On dry, styled hair (with or without a well-defined parting), spray the hairspray at arm's length (so as not to wet the hair). Carefully brush the hair to remove excess product. Repeat at least five times. This gives a beautiful material on which the curls will hold and creates a protective shield against the heat of the iron.

3/ Do the right thing

Before starting, wait a few seconds for the iron to be hot. If you have fine hair, take fairly wide locks (3-4 centimeters); if they are thick, define narrower ones. Curl the hair over the iron starting 2 centimeters from the root (more difficult to curl than the tip). Hold the position for 10 seconds, while the heat penetrates the hair.

4/ Make the loops

Start with the locks that frame the face, then those on the top of the head. Since these are the most visible, it is best to do them at the beginning, when concentration and motivation are at their peak. For those of the neck and the lengths, work upside down, leaning to the side.

5/ Finalize the hairstyle

It is important to "undo" the curls (=more natural):either by running your hand through the hair (or combing it quickly) or by shaking your head. Once the result is satisfactory, head down, fix the hairstyle with a veil of hairspray. To finish, separate the most compact strands and scrunch the hair that frames the face with your finger.
