Coloring in questions #5

Can you make platinum without damaging your hair?

No. "To reach platinum, oxidation is pushed to the maximum, until the hair is perfectly white and devoid of melanin", indicates Frédéric Mennetrier. Needless to say that it is an extremely technical gesture that is done by a pro. Who says maximum discoloration says extreme awareness:if you do it once, your hair won't be like straw, but as soon as you do it again regularly (to hide the roots), it gets more complicated...

Can I perm or straighten colored hair?

It is not advised. Permanent and straightening are hair transformation techniques that change its structure via two stages:they break it down and recompose it (curly or straight) in the same session. As the scales have been opened to the maximum, using a color with ammonia risks “exploding” the hair. If you want to combine colo and perm/straightening, you go to a salon and let the hairdresser take care of the hair at the same time.
