Hair:the right reflexes to adopt in summer

When the good weather is there, we often think about protecting our skin (a good reflex by the way!), but more rarely our hair. And yet… Sun + salt + wind + chlorine =bad combo for the hair fiber. To avoid the straw effect at the end of summer, we take care of it now.

1/ We protect the fiber from UV

Does UV have an effect on hair? But yes, and not least! If UVB rays affect the very structure of the hair fiber (by attacking the keratin that composes it), UVA rays affect the pigments of colored manes. Results ? The hair looks dull and is no longer soft (because the fiber is not smooth) or shiny. And above all, they are damn fragile... We therefore think of using a hair care product that contains UV protection, which we get into the habit of applying at the same time as our sunscreen. There are different dosage forms, adapted to different hair types:creams and oils for thick and/or frizzy hair and mists for fine hair. What if you don't want to apply any product? In this case, protecting the hair with a hat or scarf is a good option.

2/ We tie the hair

Another enemy of the fiber:the wind. It tangles the hair, ruffles it and risks breaking it. To avoid this, we get into the habit of tying them up. Braid, ponytail, bun… it doesn't matter the hairstyle, the main thing is that the hair is not loose.

3/ Rinse your hair after swimming

Whether in sea water or in the pool, we get into the habit of rinsing our hair after each swim. Why ? Salt and chlorine dry out the hair fiber to death. In the evening, they are removed by rinsing the hair with clear water. Besides, you don't need to shampoo each time (or else, with gentle formulas that don't overwork the fiber). And we brush the hair well every night.

4/ We repair the weakened fiber

The idea:it is better to take the reflex to take care of the fiber as you go rather than ending up at the end of the summer with super damaged hair and having to make an appointment with the hairdresser to repair the damage with a treatment. at the ferry and/or a good cut. We opt for a “special sun” shampoo formula, whose job is to remove residues of UV filters and salt + chlorine, but also to start repairing the hair. And we systematize the treatment with a nourishing or moisturizing mask once or twice a week and/or the use of a hair oil that we apply in the evening on the lengths.

There you go, we're ready to keep our beautiful hair!
