What hair care before using my straightener?

The danger of straightening irons

Practical, easy to transport and effective for getting a makeover, the straightener is however not recommended for very damaged hair. Indeed, the diffusion of heat can burn the hair fiber and make the ends very dry. If you already have fine, brittle and split hair, put your straightener in a closet, cut a few inches at the hairdresser, and take care of your hair. Also know that you should never use the styler on wet hair. They will undergo a thermal shock and become soft and elastic in addition to being burnt. Also try not to use an electrical appliance every day. A little natural from time to time does not hurt!

Masks and hair care

It is important to take care of your hair regularly. First of all, the choice of your shampoo is important. If you often use a straightener, take mild shampoos, without silicones or parabens. Then you can also do a mask once a week to deeply nourish and hydrate. There are many masks on the market, but you can also make a homemade hair treatment:take a natural yogurt, a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of shea butter. Leave on for about twenty minutes, then rinse to obtain very soft hair. It is also possible to make an oil bath with jojoba oil for example. Another important point is drying:you can invest in a microfiber towel. This will allow the hair to dry faster.

Care adapted to the hair straightener

Today, more and more women are using hair straighteners. For touch-ups in the morning or for blow-drying, it quickly becomes a beauty ally. To protect your hair before using your straightener, you can apply a moisturizer or a nourishing spray to all lengths. Choose light products that do not have a cardboard effect. It is also necessary to read the composition of the products. If some claim to work miracles, beware! Avoid silicone, sulfates and paraben. If there is alcohol, put the product back immediately! Instead, turn to brands used by hairdressing professionals, or ask your hairdresser directly for advice. Investing in a heat protectant spray is also a good idea! Like a veil, this treatment for fragile hair will protect the fiber against heat. There are even smoothing thermoprotective sprays to facilitate straightening, while protecting the lengths!
