Blonde wand, the future of bleaching?

Has the time for the discoloration revolution come? In any case, this is what the American brand Pravana claims with its “Blonde Wand” product. Those who have already gone through the bleaching box know it:bleaching the hair takes time (a lot, even!) and greatly weakens the hair (the bleaching process requires opening the scales of the hair and removing the natural pigments). The promise of this magic wand? Lighten hair by 7 tones in just… 10 seconds. Amazing!!

A unique technique

Here's how the Blonde Wand works:the colorist applies the lightening cream (infused with coconut oil) to the strand, covers it with aluminum foil, then passes the tool over the aluminum. The blond wand looks like a hair straightener, except that the plates do not touch. But it is indeed the heat that allows express discoloration. The good news is also that since the product is in contact with the hair for a shorter time and you heat it less, it is less sensitizing for the hair fiber. As the brand indicates in the video, the time saved is significant:for long hair, instead of 2h30, the colorist only takes 1h30. Which is not negligible!

The Blonde Wand will be launched in October 2016 in the United States. It remains to be seen whether it will be marketed in the rest of the world (and especially in France). In the meantime, we will be watching the opinions of American consumers...
