Colored, curly, dry, oily hair... How to choose your specific shampoo?

Classic shampoos

Generally, a shampoo aims to clean and shine all of the hair. It washes, it detangles and it nourishes. Conventional care consists of water, synthetic detergents, dyes, perfumes, conditioners and preservatives. However, these compositions are now called into question. Beware of the beautiful promises written on the packaging! Instead, read the label and the names written in very small! It is important to avoid certain detergents, such as sodium, to ban silicones which suffocate the hair fiber, to avoid paraben and "methylisothiazolinone". To be sure to buy suitable hair care, you can seek advice from a pharmacy or turn to natural products. For example, for colored hair, there are plant-based shampoos that help protect the color, while respecting the hair.

The different types of shampoos

There are different types of shampoos on the market. They adapt to all manes:normal hair, dry, dull or damaged ends, colored, wavy, blond, brown or red hair. There is something for everyone, with more or less creamy textures, and tangy or floral flavors. However, there are four main categories of hair care. There is the "classic" shampoo that washes and cleans the hair fiber and the scalp. The "care" shampoo adapts to the nature of the hair:it can add volume, smooth or texturize the lengths. For those who have specific problems, on the other hand, it is better to turn to a “treating” shampoo. It nourishes, regulates sebum, fights dandruff, etc. Finally, dry shampoo has been a great success for several years. It allows you to space out washes, while preventing the scalp from getting greasy too quickly!

Choose your shampoo according to your hair type

Know that it is recommended to shampoo once or twice a week maximum. If you have normal hair, you can apply a natural gentle treatment directly. However, choose a sulfate-free and silicone-free shampoo. For those with dry hair, it is important to use a nourishing treatment. In this case, choose a shampoo based on vegetable oil, such as sweet almond or jojoba oil. For oily scalps, it is important to opt for a shampoo that will regulate excess sebum. Choose a product made with zinc or nettle. If you have curly hair, choose a very moisturizing shampoo with shea butter. Finally, for colored hair, turn to treatments that respect the color, while nourishing the fiber.
