I want colored hair for the holidays!

It's not that we're obsessed with unicorns (although…), but we have to admit that the idea of having pink, blue, purple or green hair has already crossed our minds. And in this festive season, even more! Good news, the various temporary coloring tools allow us to see all the colors… for a few days! Zoom on the different options.

For an evening

We need:a hair color chalk.

We like:it's super easy to apply since you just have to pass the chalk on each strand and manage the intensity by pressing more or less when you pass. Once you are satisfied with the color result, fix with a veil of hairspray. Color washes out with shampoo.

We don't like it:it's a bit long to apply and difficult on the strands at the back of the head.

Our favourites:Hair Artist hair chalks, available on Asos, €8.99 Hair Color Chalk, Vivelle Dop, €10.85.

For a few days

The right product:a coloring spray.

We like:easy to use, just spray it to see the hair tint. You can adjust the intensity of the product by staying more or less long in the same place. The application is quick and lasts between 1 to 3 shampoos depending on the formulas.

We don't like:as with chalk, it's not always easy to reach the hair behind the head.

Our favourites:BlondMe Enhancer Spray, 4 shades, Schwarzkopf Professional, €23.10 and Colorista Spray, 7 shades, L'Oréal Paris, €7.90.

For several shampoos

The right product:temporary cream colouring.

We like:the color result, which can be modulated according to the exposure time, but which is clearly visible (even for pastel shades, the result is visible). Some coloring creams need to be applied to blonde or bleached hair, but others are effective on dark hair.

We like less:depending on the porosity of the hair, the coloring can last more or less long... Clearly, if you have damaged hair, it may stay much longer than expected. It's nice if you like it, less if you want it to fade quickly. Good to know:L'Oréal Paris has just released a "color eraser", a shampoo that helps get rid of pigments more quickly (Fader, L'Oréal Paris, €7.90).

The right product:Semi-Permanent Color Cream, Manic Panic c/o Color-Mania (very wide choice of colors), €12.90 and Fugace Coloration, Crazy Color c/o Dragonfly Blue, €7.10.
