ghd launches recycling program for electric styling tools

Since we are (still) in the good resolutions, we allow ourselves to ask the question:where are you in terms of recycling? Well, the glass is easy, just put it in the container. Cardboard and paper, in the yellow bin. But for electrical appliances, it is more complicated (result:1 out of 2 French people admit to having an unused electrical appliance at home!). So, styling appliances, we don't even talk about them... Until then, we could bring them back to certain stores (Darty or Boulanger type) or to a recycling center. Now ghd is looking to go further by launching the first recycling program for electric styling tools, lasting approximately 4 months, starting January 7, 2019.

A real impact

Concretely, it is in the ghd partner salons that it will happen:we can bring back our straighteners, curling irons, hair dryers, heated or straightening brushes, whatever their brand and their working condition. In return, a discount on the purchase of a new ghd tool will be offered to us. The salons undertake to collect the tools to introduce them into a recycling circuit afterwards. A hair dryer, for example, can be recycled in the following way:the 48% of plastic is often reused in hidden car parts; 22% of ferrous metals (from the engine, in particular) are 100% recycled and used for metal fittings in construction; the 18% of non-ferrous metals are also 100% recycled, for the manufacture of automobile parts and cables (as for the remaining 12%, these are electronic cards, regulated substances and plastic or rubber waste, they are processed and/or recovered). Clearly, a styling tool can have a second life (or even a third!), so don't hesitate any longer and take advantage of the operation to bring our unused tools back to the salon!
