Tan with vegetable oils

Why do vegetable oils make you tan?

When we expose ourselves to the sun little by little, our body produces melanin which leads to a gradual tanning process. In fact, when you start exposing yourself to the sun, the body will protect itself from the harmful effects of UV rays by preparing the skin to be stronger against the sun.

The oils will allow the skin to gradually build up a protective film by helping the skin to secrete melanin thanks to the carotenoids they contain. They will also contribute to the hydration of the skin, essential for the skin to tan.

Please note:vegetable oils are not sunscreens. When you expose yourself, you must imperatively apply sun protection with a more or less high SPF which cannot be replaced by vegetable oil. You don't use an oil to tan faster !

Buriti oil for tanning

Who better than a small copper seed of Brazilian origin to help us take on color naturally? Packed with nourishing omega 6 and 9, antioxidant vitamin E and natural UV protective provitamin A, Buriti Oil conditions the skin to receive the sun's rays. Buriti oil activates tanning thanks to its carotenoid active ingredients and thus strengthens the natural defenses of the epidermis against premature skin ageing. Conclusion:The earlier we use it, the more office colleagues will be jealous of our natural tan!

Tanning oil recipe

You can use vegetable oils in synergy to make your own tanning oil! Using these oils in synergy allows you to take advantage of the benefits of both treatments.

For this homemade tanning oil, mix:

  • A teaspoon of buriti oil
  • Ten teaspoons of jojoba oil

Let the product sit for at least two weeks before using it. We advise you to put it in a spray bottle for a more practical application of the oil!

How do I apply my vegetable oil?

Start applying oils before going on vacation or before summer, count 2 to 3 weeks. Choose a face oil and a body oil, which you will apply as your day care by massaging each part of your body.

You can also use vegetable oils as a soothing treatment or as a treatment to prolong your tan. To do this, continue to apply some after your exposure in order to keep this tanned complexion as long as possible!
