#Woman of Mars - Meeting with Hokaran

March, the month which for us celebrates Women.
Of course, a single day or a single month in the year is not enough, but we will not talk about that.
No. We want to ask you “which woman are you? », and further still, « which woman do you want to be »? We believe that each of you has everything you need inside of you to be who you want to be. Getting inspired to nourish yourself, yes, but everything is already within you.

Joyful, inspiring, sexy, feminine, sensitive, true, enthusiastic, natural, confusing, funny, independent, strong… Be free to be whatever you want to be. Without injunction. Without judgement. Woman and free. Naturally. So, to celebrate together the Woman that we are, meeting with inspiring, touching, creative, enterprising women.Today, meeting with Laure, founder of the French brand Hokaran.

1 - First of all, introduce yourself and your brand

My name is Laure Bouguen, I'm 28 years old, I'm from Brittany, the granddaughter of hemp-growers and I founded HO KARAN 5 years ago!

HO KARAN is a natural skincare brand that de-stresses men and women, whatever their age and origin, thanks to the expertise of Breton cannabis, in a bold and responsible way. I surrounded myself with experts - agronomist, doctor of pharmacy, phyto-cosmetologists - to offer holistic, natural, sustainable and positive care to soothe urban dwellers.

2 - Why did you found this brand? What message did you want to convey?

My grandparents grew hemp also called cannabis sativa. I realized that cannabis is a plant that can benefit all humanity, all types of soils and ecosystems, but that it is only tolerated in a handful of countries. France, our country, has unfortunately fallen far behind on this subject.

Beyond creating skincare products that tackle a clear mission:to fight the visible manifestations of stress, HO KARAN is a platform to advocate for well-being and therapeutic cannabis. It's a positive way to do this fight, by doing good to people.

Our products are living proof that cannabis is a plant with countless health benefits. They carry real messages, they are platforms for accepting that cannabis is good and for a "no stress" lifestyle.

This is why I created HO KARAN and use Breton cannabis. HO KARAN means "I love you" in Breton, a statement to cannabis, to my grandparents and to the world of tomorrow.

In parallel with HO KARAN, I co-founded and am the spokesperson for the Syndicat Professionnel du Chanvre. We are working to ensure that the legislation evolves to be able to offer you cannabinoids from organic and French hemp of very high quality.

3 - What is your definition of female beauty?

We believe in beauty that is positive and inclusive (and therefore includes men beyond women), holistic, natural and sustainable. Let me explain:

Positive and inclusive

We believe in a universal and inclusive approach to care. The last cosmetic decades have been marked by gender stereotypes and anti-aging slogans that make men and women feel guilty:far from stressing and complexing men and women, we work for their fulfillment and by supporting them in a serene longevity.

Holistic

We believe that skin, body and mind are one and must be taken care of simultaneously. For us, care is a true art of living in &out, which includes effective and sensory products, treatment protocols, food supplements...

Natural

Naturalness at HO KARAN is synonymous with high standards and innovation. A reworked nature, resulting from research that pushes the limits of science while respecting the plant.

Sustainable

We believe that real skincare takes into account its entire ecosystem:the health of the consumer, the sustainability of the product and the environment that allows it to be created. Committed to a natural and ethical formulation process, all our products are vegan and made with 99% to 100% ingredients of natural origin.

HO KARAN treatments make sense:doing good beyond the surface effects, without harming people, soil and animals.

4 - Which woman do you want to embody every day through your brand?

To be an inspiring leader for my team, an available and warm person for my clients, a positive activist for the cause.

5 - Who is your female role model and why?

I don't have a single female role model. There are many women whom I admire for very varied qualities and who often have in common to be courageous and powerful:- Virginie Despentes for her liberating and always fair words- Julie Gautier for her talents:freediver, director, dancer , it shows that you can be everything at the same time and excel in everything - Christiane Taubira for her courage and her composure... The list would be long!

6 - What is your favorite quote?

There is a sentence that I often write at HO KARAN because it sums up well I find my daily motivation:since we can leave a trace, let's make it beautiful. I really like this phrase by Michel Audiard "Happy are the cracked because they will let the light pass"

7 - A message to all women?

"HO KARAN" obviously (I love you in Breton) #Woman of Mars - Meeting with Hokaran
