Outfit for work, going out, dinner, sport or vacation, in total, a woman would spend an average of 287 days of her life in front of her wardrobe. The majority of this time would be spent selecting the perfect night out outfit and the right vacation clothes. The poll reportedly found that women would spend an average of 16 minutes on weekdays deciding what to wear for the day and 14 minutes for their weekend outfits. Packing a suitcase before going on vacation would take 52 minutes each time, and on holidays like Christmas, choosing the perfect outfit would take 36 minutes.

A spokesperson for the Matalan clothing brand, which collected responses from 2,491 women on their clothing habits, explains:"What you wear has a direct impact on how you feel […] It is important that a woman feels exceptional in her outfit" . The study interviewed women between the ages of 16 and 60.
