Nike launches the Air Max 97, a new pair of limited edition sneakers at 2,700 euros, with the soles filled with holy water

A pair of sneakers filled with holy water, here is the amazing novelty of Nike with its latest release, the Air Max 97, imagined by the American artistic collective MSCHF.

Inspiration comes from absolutely everywhere. Even religion can prove to be a source of creative, albeit surprising, ideas, as is the case with Nike's little novelty, the Air Max 97 MSCHF x INRI Jesus Shoes .

Accessorized with a crucifix on the laces, this surprising pair of sneakers would have soles of sixty centiliters of holy water, coming from the Jordan River. Sacred to pilgrims, the Jordan site would be the place where Jesus Christ was baptized. Even today, the river welcomes Christians from all over the world every year who reproduce this biblical scene.

Imagined by an American artistic collective, MSCHF, this new pair has the "objective" of inviting those who will have them in their possession to "walk on water", like Jesus in verse 14:25 of the Bible. Why this idea? Daniel Greenberg, director of strategy for the collective, explained the funny and surprising origin of this project to the New York Post.

On the other hand, if you are a believer and like the idea of taking yourself for the son of God, know that this limited edition pair – which has also been blessed – is already out of stock. But if you're ready to put your PEL on it, you can find it on resale for just over €2,700 minimum...
