Connected technologies continue to invest slowly (but surely) the field of fashion. Three years after their first collaboration, Google and Levi's unveiled a new connected jacket a few days ago, dubbed the "Trucker Jacket" . A piece imagined and designed by Jacquard, the "connected textiles" subsidiary of the Mountain View firm.

In 2017, the two brands had already presented a first model of connected jacket, mainly dedicated to a sporting public, equipped with a tactile left sleeve allowing to control applications of its smartphone, specifies Le Journal du Geek. A piece that had a major drawback:it could only be washed about ten times before giving up the ghost , due to the many electronic circuits it contained.

Unsurprisingly, this model, which sold for $350 each, did not meet with great commercial success, prompting Jacquard to develop a new version unveiled on Monday, September 30. And the least we can say is that there is change... But not necessarily in appearance.

Because at first glance, the "Trucker Jacket" looks like a very classic denim jacket, as you can see in the video at the top of the article. But under the fabric, the novelties:Google has notably designed a smaller and more discreet electronic module, explains Presse Citron. The specialized site also specifies that "the touch surface on the left sleeve of the jacket supports four types of gestures", and that "with each gesture, the user can assign a command on his smartphone".

This model will also be cheaper than its predecessor, and should cost around 200 euros. It will be released in the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany.

And while waiting for its commercial release, why not fall for a small connected watch special for sport and well-being?
